I’m Josh, I live near Melbourne VIC Australia with my full electric 2021 Kia E-Niro.
And on my YouTube channel I’ll be driving it all over the country. Doing local day to day driving, and plenty of longer road trips, both on major highways in more populated areas, and to some more remote parts of Outback Australia far off the beaten track.
EV charging infrastructure is still in its infancy in Australia, so getting a fast charge might not always be easy, but I want to bring you all along for the ride, through the good & the bad & the frustrating.
I’m proud to be one of less than 100 people to have completed a full lap of Australia in a fully electric vehicle!
As recorded by the Tesla Owners Club Of WA, my Kia Niro and I completed the 53rd known EV lap of Australia in March 2025!
During my lap of mainland Australia, I didn’t include the island state of Tasmania.
So in February 2026, my Kia Niro and I took the Spirit Of Tasmania ferry from Geelong to Devonport to complete a lap of Tasmania!
Most recently, I took a quick trip from my home in Melbourne up to Brisbane to visit the eLumina factory and learn more about their battery buffered EV fast chargers.
This trip was more about getting there than it was about sightseeing, but I took the inland route via Dubbo on the way up, and then the more costal route via Sydney on the way home, to get some different scenery.
Wether you have a suggestion for a new road trip destination, or know of anything else happening in the EV space in Australia that you think would make an interesting video, I’d love to hear it!
